The Saroyan Institute

The Aram Saroyan Institute was created to provide high school seniors with an introduction to entrepreneurship. Most education is designed to teach students how to become employees. The mission of the Saroyan Institute is to help young people learn about the opportunities, risks, and rewards of starting your own business.

Over the course of a 10 week summer program, students are given in introduction into business formation, business plans, and the creative, legal, and regulatory challenges that have to be addressed. The curriculum is a combination of lectures, interviews with successful business owners and, most importantly, a chance to put what they are learning into practice. The inaugural class is scheduled for the summer of 2025. Please feel free to contact us with questions.

The Institute is name after Aram Saroyan, a man you won’t find in any history book but whose life personified the American Dream. He was only 12 years old when he reached the United States, helping his mother and sisters escape the Armenian Genocide in Turkey. Penniless, fatherless, and responsible for his family, Aram went on to become a respected grape shipper, a criminal defense lawyer, and a very prominent businessman. He left an unparalleled legacy of ingenuity, creativity, success and, as he would say, more than a little bombast.
